ALL THE WAYS WE WANT

All the Ways We Want: Power and Tenderness in Contemporary Portraiture
EXHIBITION RUNS | August 23 – November 2, 2025

All the Ways We Want is an exhibition that brings together the work of Jas Petersen and Spenny Liautaud in a deeply intimate and expansive dialogue on identity, vulnerability, and the dualities of human expression through form.

Jas Petersen and Spencer Liautaud offer two distinct but interwoven approaches. Petersen’s iconic Fastgirls are emblems of portraiture where their bold, glamorous, and unapologetically feminine presence challenges how the female form is consumed, mythologized, and reclaimed. Liautaud’s process-driven abstractions, by contrast, dissolve the figure altogether, revealing portraiture as an interior frequency: a rhythm of color, texture, and gesture that connects our emotional bodies with the natural world.

Placed in dialogue, their works examine the dualities of visibility and obscurity, polish and rawness, strength and softness. Petersen’s work make odes to consumerism, transportation and social obligation embodying how identity is performed and projected outward, while Liautaud’s abstractions reflect the inner landscapes we guard or surrender. Together, they illuminate portraiture not just as representation, but as revelation.
