NEW EXHIBITION:

RESIDENT ARTISTS GROUP SHOW

PLACEMAKING

Placemaking is the 2026 Resident Artists Exhibition at Zhou B Art Center Kansas City, bringing together the artists who actively shape the creative energy of the building every day. Inspired by the global spirit of connection surrounding the FIFA World Cup and Kansas City's role as a host city, the exhibition explores the many ways we define and experience home.

Through painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, textile work, and installation, resident artists examine themes of memory, culture, identity, belonging, ritual, community, and personal history. For some, home is rooted in a physical place. For others, it exists within relationships, traditions, language, or shared experiences.

More than a traditional group exhibition, Placemaking invites visitors to reflect on what we carry with us, what connects us to one another, and how spaces become meaningful through the stories we share.
