ALL THE WAYS WE WANT

All the Ways We Want: Power and Tenderness in Contemporary Portraiture
August 23 – November 2, 2025

Opening Night: August 23 | Artist Talk 7 PM | Reception 8–11 PM
Zhou B Art Center – Kansas City, MO

This landmark exhibition brings together Chicago-based artist Jas Petersen and Nashville-based artist Spenny Liautaud in a compelling dialogue on identity, vulnerability, and the dualities of human expression. Through figurative and abstract works, the artists explore gender, power, spirituality, nature, and the ways we present—and protect—ourselves in the modern world.

Petersen’s bold, glamorous “Fastgirls” challenge narratives around femininity and media, while Liautaud’s textured abstractions invite a meditative inward gaze into spirit and human connection. Together, their works balance strength with softness, beauty with truth, power with tenderness.

Opening Night includes an artist talk, live reception, and the chance to meet the artists.
