The girls represent a moment of reflection on identity, ritual, and self expression. While creating them, I grappled with admiration and envy for cultures rooted in visible tradition and adornment, imagining what it would be like to claim rituals of my own. Through this process, I found love and respect for what they hold, and for what I hold too. This piece honors both, acknowledging that light and darkness live within us all.
