The Zhou B Art Center is a pioneering cultural institution dedicated to fostering artistic excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. Located in the 18th and Vine District, the center provides a dynamic platform for artists, patrons, and the community to engage with the arts. Its facilities include 45 studio spaces, 3 private event spaces, a sculpture garden and exhibition space. The Zhou B Art Center KC will feature a rotation of formal exhibitions to exhibit resident, local, national and international artists. The goal of this interdisciplinary arts building is to foster a vibrant community that extends beyond the arts by actively collaborating with the people of Kansas City through partnerships and a shared vision.

About the Former Crispus Attucks School:

The Zhou B Art Center of Kansas City resides in the former Crispus Attucks School located in the Historic 18th & Vine Jazz District. The Crispus Attucks School was one of the first African American schools in Kansas City, the original structure was originally built for the school in 1905 and was later renovated in 1922 to add a second wing in order to meet the schools demand. The buildings deep rooted history in the community landed itself on the Kansas City Register of Historic Places and The National Register of Historic Places.

About the Zhou Brothers

Shanzuo Zhoushi and Dahuang Zhoushi, born in Guangxi, China and currently based in Chicago, US, are world renowned Chinese painters. Since coming to the US in 1986, they have become celebrity artists in US and Europe with their endeavor and talent. Time and time again they created legends of the world’s abstract art history; their paintings are chased after by collectors, celebrities, museums and foundations; they hold exhibitions all over the globe and have received numerous awards.

As one of the most important contemporary artists duo, they create unique, profound, and powerful works through the collaboration of the two. Their contribution to late 20th century’s contemporary art is unneglectable, and their works have made the top rankings of global living artists. Together, the Zhou Brothers have led an artistic career for over 40s, creating a legend of art history and American dream
