SPIRIT & SONG
FEATURED PERFORMERLAVA DREAMS
Zhou Spirit and Song returns Friday, October 23, with Kansas City artist Lava Dreams for an evening of alternative pop and pop punk at Zhou B Art Center KC. Experience their magnetic stage presence up close as our seasonal concert series brings a fresh sound into the gallery.
Lava Dreams (she/they) is a queer multidisciplinary artist, performer, and songwriter whose music pairs visceral lyrics with addictive hooks. Her work explores transformation, turning pain, fear, and personal discovery into songs that speak to the outcasts.
Their performances have taken them to stages across Kansas City, including Boulevardia, Kansas City Pride, Queer Dyke Night, Outer Reaches, and Manor Fest. Their 2020 EP, Good Energy + Focus, earned recognition in 90.9 The Bridge’s “Best of The Bridge,” and the station premiered their 2025 single and music video, “THIRSTY.”
Join us for an October night of bold local music surrounded by art. Whether you’ve followed Lava Dreams for years or are discovering their music for the first time, this is your invitation to hear it live.
