SYMBIOSIS

Zhou B Art Center KC is proud to welcome SYMBIOSIS, a new exhibition created in collaboration with Imagine That KC, opening October 2.

Established in 2012, Imagine That KC is a creative arts program dedicated to supporting artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they develop their artistic practices, explore new mediums, and share their work with audiences in Kansas City and beyond.

SYMBIOSIS brings the work of Imagine That artists into Zhou B Art Center KC for an exhibition exploring the connection between artistic creation and the natural world.

Inspired by the patterns, repetition, growth, and transformation we see throughout nature, the exhibition looks at how artists observe and reimagine the world around them. Linework can evoke roots, repeated marks create rhythm, abstract forms recall landscapes, and individual materials come together to create something entirely new.

But SYMBIOSIS is also about what happens when we create alongside one another. Each artist brings their own perspective, process, and creative voice while contributing to a larger ecosystem of ideas, expression, and community.

Join us for the opening reception to experience the work, celebrate the Imagine That artists, and welcome this exciting collaboration to Zhou B Art Center KC.
