Sharon Arteaga
Sharon Arteaga is a retired engineer. She self-taught and has been painting and drawing for over 50 years. She is currently working in acrylics and watercolors. She has exhibited at the Westport show and other art fairs and businesses in Kansas City for many years. Her work is strongly representational and includes landscapes, portraits and still lifes. She is not Grandma Moses. She paints to capture the beauty in life.

About the Piece:
This small creek is located about 40 miles south of Kansas City. My husband took the photo just after a rain when the trees were still dripping. The black tree limbs against the fall colors is just the type of contrast I love.
About the Artist:
I am a retired consulting engineer and now I am able to pursue my lifelong passion for painting. My style is representational and I paint figures portraits, still lifes, and landscapes. I love color, especially the fall pallet which is featured in most of my landscapes.
