$800.00

Title of Piece: In Passing

Artist: Kayla Traxel

Size: 29"x34"

Medium: Watercolor, thread

Price: $800

About the Piece:

Sometimes, it’s just a second. You catch someone in a crowd, or passing on the street, and they turn your way while everything else fades. You don’t know them, and they don’t see you, but something about the way they moved, or how the light caught their face lodges in your memory like a dream. It’s the echo of possibility held in soft focus. You replay it simply because of the way the moment felt, staying in your mind because it chose to linger there.

About the Artist:

My practice centers on handworked techniques like embroidery, watercolor, and layered textile applications. I favor visible seams, raw textures, and soft, natural palettes that prioritize crafted over manufactured. I’m interested in how imperfection builds character, emphasizing transformation as an essential part of creation. Beauty, for me, emerges not from flawlessness but from what is broken, repaired, and made anew. These works invite reflective engagement where each piece holds the energy of a moment between, making room for memory, individuality, and connection.
