Mixed Media on Canvas

$750

Screen Printing, water and oil media on canvas.

Artist Statement:

In absence of objective my focus begins by building a building a presence or evidence of process. Finding the work.  Process often guides my decision making as I work. Allowing the work to help me find the language to convey an experience that I may not be able to pinpoint and express directly. Through this game I create a door for myself to travel into experiences, feelings, and ideas that I may not have been open to. From this process I can explore where I am taken. I explore as if I have never been there before. Like the feeling of traveling or moving to a new place. The sense of discomfort, uneasiness, inspiration and curiosity. This is where my work is cultivated.

Manipulating mediums is a large part of my work.  From exploring a new tool or medium to working through multiple mediums on a single page or canvas. I see this as another way to set the scene of a piece. Each tool or medium brings its own language of expression to the table. Creating relationships with one another that expose the onlooker to an interaction reminiscent of a moment, relationship, situation, or trait of life.
