Templo Maiz (Edwing Mendez)

$400.00

TItle of Artwork: Templo Maíz - Study #1

Materials Used: Mixed Media

Price: $400

Medium: Mixed Media

Date created (Year) : 2024

Size: 15” x 12”

Rarity: First in a limited series of studies

Condition: Excellent Condition

Signature: no

Certification of Authenticity: Yes

Frame: Yes

Series: Maíz

About the Work:

The piece is the first in a series that explores corn husk, used to make tamales, as a graphic medium. I used the organic patterns in the husk to create something geometric and minimal. Much of my work also explores the geometric forms of Mesoamerican temples. I seek to present a more modern image of Mexican identity through Precolumbian motifs.
